An update to the way the Membership List and Google Group will be maintained for this year and going forward!
First, to explain the previous method for membership communication has been to include the previous year's membership group in all communications until mid-late in the year, at which point only the current year's group is used. This inevitably has led to people not receiving messages because they were not successfully moved into the new group.
The solution to that comes with a few other benefits:
- eliminates a lot of the work for the membership committee
- members no longer have to remember which group/email to include or exclude
- members no longer have to join the "new" group
- retain access to communications long-term
Previously, we created a new Google Group for every year and attempted to migrate members to it.
The change: we have ONE Friends Lake Cooperative Community Membership Google Group (CLICK THIS LINK TO JOIN), and the email for this group is flcc_members@googlegroups.com
Please also understand that you can control how often you receive emails from this group (i.e. immediately, daily, weekly).
https://groups.google.com/g/flcc_members/membership
I will attempt to manually add any members who do not request access to this new group.
If you have any questions, please reply only to me, not a reply-all.
Best,
Jason Dunstan
